Frequently Asked Questions

General

Q: What ages do you train?
A: Most of our athletes are between ages 7–13, but we assess each player individually. If your child is motivated to train and ready to learn, we’ll help them grow—regardless of age.

Q: Where are sessions held?
A: Most sessions are held at my home in Rosamond, CA, in a training facility which I have named The Forge.

Q: How many players are in each session?
A: I keep our sessions small by design.
• Hitting sessions: max 2 players
• Throwing sessions: max 3 players
This keeps coaching focused and reps meaningful.

Training Philosophy

Q: What makes C2 different from other local coaches or cages?
A: C2 isn’t a lesson mill or a generic batting cage. I use proven methods from programs like Driveline Baseball, paired with modern youth development science. Every athlete trains on a customized plan focused on long-term growth, not short-term fixes.

Q: Will you teach my son/daughter to throw a curveball?
A: Absolutely not.  I train players where they are at physically.  If their bodies are not mature enough to handle the physical stress of certain movements (like breaking balls), I will not do it. I want your kids to have long, successful careers that they love and takes them places, not to dominate their local Rec Leagues.

Q: Do you work on pitching, hitting, and defense?
A: Yes. C2 trains the whole player.  Hitting, throwing, position-specific defense, movement quality, and mindset. If your child wants to catch, I build that. If they want to play shortstop, I build that too.

Q: Is this just private lessons?
A: No. C2 is a development system. Athletes train in small groups consistently, with personal attention and goal-based instruction. This is more effective, and more affordable, than typical once-a-week private lessons.  A child gains more from having 1 or 2 peers in training with them, then they do in private lessons with a coach. A small group allows kids to naturally start competing against one of another in training, and thats when they begin to take ownership of their own development.

Programs + Pricing

Q: How do I know which plan is right for my child?
A: If you're unsure, start with the Base Plan (1x/week) and grow from there. During onboarding, We'll assess your child’s skill level, mindset, and goals—and I'll recommend the right fit.

Q: Can we switch tiers later?
A: Yes. You can move between Base, Core, and Elite month to month based on availability. I'm flexible, but spots are limited.

Q: Are there refunds or credits for missed sessions?
A: I don’t offer refunds for missed sessions. However, if you give me a heads-up, I’ll do our best to reschedule. C2's structure rewards consistency and commitment.

Logistics

Q: What happens after I fill out the contact form?
A: You’ll receive a follow-up within 24–48 hours. If there’s an opening, I’ll schedule an intro call or session. If we’re full, you’ll be added to the waitlist and contacted when a spot opens.

Q: What gear does my player need?
A: Players don’t need to bring any training equipment, provide all training tools used in sessions. But here’s what they should bring:
• Their own “gamer” bat (for proper size and weight)
• Helmet (we have extras if needed)
• Batting gloves (optional but encouraged)
• Cleats or clean shoes, depending on location (I’ll coordinate)
• Water is highly recommended, but we have bottled water available for a donation

Q: Can parents stay and watch training?
A: Yes. You’re welcome to stay and observe. I just ask that parents stay positive and avoid coaching from the sidelines so your child can stay focused and independent.
